Thank You, MESHSA!

Thank you, MESHSA!  The luncheon you threw for us on Friday was fantastic and our whole staff was super grateful. We've never had a pizzeria in our staff room before, so that was quite the treat! We all felt very appreciated!

Walkathon Update!

Dear Mary Silveira Families,

Woohoo MES! Let’s Celebrate! We have surpassed our goal of raising $35,000 and have raised an astonishing $47,000 in the Home and School Association’s Walking on Sunshine Walkathon Fundraiser!!! MESHSA is thrilled to be able to support our wonderful school, staff, students, and community in every way possible!

Congrats to our top raising students:

  • Ethan K of Ms. Clark’s Class
  • Zara M. of Mrs. Hutchens’ Class
  • Vincent F of Ms. DiGirolamo’s Class
  • Chason H of Ms. Nichols’ Class
  • Tristan F of Ms. DiGirolamo’s Class

We would also like to congratulate classes with incredibly high participation! Way to go kiddos!

  • Mrs. Ritcher’s Class – 90% Participation!
  • Mrs.  Hooper’s Class – 82% Participation
  • Mrs. Moore’s Class – 82% Participation
  • Ms. Lum’s Class – 78% Participation
  • Ms. Rossini’s Class – 78% Participation

We’d also like to give special acknowledgment to those students who raised $500 or more: Marlowe R (Lum), Zain K (Lum), Paige D (Madden), Michelle P (Rossini), Gia D (Jones), Ava C (Moore), and Elle S (Madden).

MESHSA has been busy awarding classroom parties such as extra recess and a movie in the MPR with snacks! Ask your child if their class had a special celebration. We are ordering Walkathon T-Shirts and they will be delivered to your child’s class in the next few weeks.

We are back to work putting these funds to good use and ending the school year with a bunch of fun events. Look forward to enjoying:

MES Talent Shows – May 17 & 18

MES Family Dance Party – June 3

Year End Field Day – June 8

Thank you to each and every family who participated in any way. We love our school and our community and it feels amazing to see everyone come together and accomplish such an incredible feat! Your MESHSA Team is honored to be supported in this way.

Lots of fun to come!

Many sincere thanks,

Heather DiGiorgio and your MESHSA Team

MESHSA Meeting

Our next Home and School Association (MESHSA) Meeting is Wednesday, May 11th at 6:30pm in our MPR. All are welcome, so please join us!

Field Day - Need Coordinators!

Field Day was an annual event put on at our school on the second to last day of school. It was a super fun event filled with fun and active stations outside on the field and on the blacktop.  It was canceled the last two years due to Covid. We'd love to bring it back and hold it on June 8th for grades 1-5.

The only thing is that we need parent coordinators. The parent coordinators would meet with me, and a few people who remember how field day used to operate so you could get caught up to speed. You'd then enlist a bunch of parents to help with the event so you would certainly not be alone. In the past we had many parent volunteers for this event.

If you'd like to learn more or would be willing to be a Field Day parent coordinator, please email Mr. Remmers or the MESHSA team at:

Youth Truth Survey

Our school recently participated in the national Youth Truth Survey and we are beginning to dive into the results.  All staff, families/guardians, and students in grades 3-5 were invited to participate in the survey.  Your feedback is important and our response rate was high.

We heard from 82% of our families, 100% of our 3-5 students, and 100% of our staff

Over the coming months, we will design action steps for improvement. Here is a closer look at some of the responses from our parents and guardians...
